This year, our limited-edition 2026 pocket calendar features a collaboration between poets and artists with ties to Halle.
In 1991, students of German language and literature founded the third Halle Poets' Circle, an open group where authors meet regularly to discuss their unfinished texts. Thanks to this group’s efforts, many poetry collections, short story collections, and novels have been published.
The artist collective Book Art Center Halle, or b.a.c.H. for short, has been active since 2014. Each year, it brings together 12 to 14 artists and their works around a specific theme. Most of these artists have studied at the Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design in Halle.
For the year 2026, the Book Art Center Halle and the Halle Poets' Circle have joined forces to design the calendar together. The result: 2 x 17 works in the b.a.c.H. pocket calendar 2026.
My illustration is inspired by the poem “Kalender” by Olaf Wisch, which shows how the moments given to us intertwine and captures the beauty and complexity of our existence.
